Expression of Interest for Team Coaching or Team Manager in 2012


Drummoyne Junior AFL Football Club is actively planning ahead to ensure that season 2012 is as fun and rewarding as we have all come to expect. A key part of the service that Drummoyne people contribute to make your children’s AFL experience so fantastic is the appointment of coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers. The club recognise the importance of these roles and it is clear from the feedback at the club’s recent planning days that this is an area of much interest to our families.


In response to the strong consensus for a transparent process that ensures we achieve the best possible balance in these important appointments, the appointment of coaches, assistant coaches and team managers in 2012 will proceed as follows.



  1. All coaching and managing positions are declared vacant.

  2. An “Expression of Interest” form (below) must be completed and returned to the club vice president by November 30, 2011.

  3. The club President will appoint a special team appointment’s panel (TAP). Chaired by the President, the TAP will consider the EoI’s received and make appointments on
    the basis of the information contained on this proforma, as well as other feedback from (e.g.) the planning days.

  4. Appointees will be contacted in early December and asked to confirm their commitment by December 10 so as to ensure that the pre-season training can commence smoothly.

  5. All coaches and assistant coaches must commit to taking a Level 1 coaching course at the expense of the club. Managers will be required to attend a ‘Team Mangers Forum’ in early 2012.


This represents a new initiative for the Club because in this way, we are soliciting volunteers for the “football department” of the club (coaches, team managers etc.) separately from the “operations department” of the club: canteen coordination, executive committee roles etc.


So, please do look out for a second circular coming soon that will provide opportunities for volunteers in these crucial operational roles.
