2011 R17 Match Report - U8 Silver

A Big thank you to the McDonald and Gallen families whose kids, Finn McDonald & Thea Gallen playing gallantly for the Under 8s just having played for the Power under 7s. Finn and Thea ran tirelessly all game for their 2nd effort of the morning.


Captain of the Day
Maxim Angelos showed strong leadership in the face of adversity. With Eastern bulldogs fielding 9 players and The Drummoyne Power with 8 we were outnumbered in attack but never gave up, holding our heads high and contesting every mark and bounce hard all game.


Match Highlights
Outnumbered in attack the whole team showed sterling defense in the centres and backs with excellent efforts by Gilbert Hogg, Jonah Clarke, Finn McDonald and Elliot Benson.


Mark of the Day
The Mark of the day went to Ethan Jamieson with a Mark reminiscent of Chris Tarrants 2003 mark of the year.


Points of the Day
Unfortunately no goals were forthcoming with the Under 8s Silvers however great points were scored by Ethan Jamieson and Finn McDonald,


Awards
The Best team player was Elliott Benson, the most improved players were Finn McDonald and Thea Gallen with outstanding preformances. The Best player on field in a miraculous and inspiring display of courage after two very heavy knocks was Nathan Wrigley!
