Drummoyne Power awarded with NSW Sports Award for Volunteer Management

Drummoyne Power JAFC have been awarded with a NSW Sports Award for Volunteer Management. This new initiative serves to recognise outstanding achievements and contributions by volunteers in sport in NSW in 2011.

The club was presented with their award at a ceremony in Bicentennial Park, Sydney by NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation Graham Annesley. Gavin Nelson (Club President), Andrew Hamilton (Volunteer Manager) and Leonard Robertson (Club Treasurer) attended the ceremony.

Andrew said that it is the focus on communication and leadership separates the club from other sporting organisations. "We want to make sure that they are looked after, give them the best experience we can, and also provide some leadership in what they have actually got to be doing"

This is a fantastic achievement that recognises the great work of all our volunteers (mostly parents)in building Drummoyne Power into the club it is today.

And as we continue to expand, we need more volunteers. Please take a look at the range of roles on our Club Officials page. There is something everyone can help out with. If you think you can contribute or wish to find out more please contact any member of the Committee.
