Round 10 Match Report - U11 Teal
Under 11s Teal vs Easts Blue
U11 Teal’s character building season continued this week as the boys took on Easts Blue at Five Dock oval.
Lars was a standout this week, stepping up for the defence in a match where every tackle was desperately needed.
The team also benefitted by some extra parental inspiration during the breaks. This was best exemplified by Marianne (Darby’s mum) throwing herself into the huddle for some hip and shoulder demonstrations. We are still looking for some technical translation for the “rip and run” advice.
Among the more unusual highlights for this week included a goal scored by Gabe while playing for the opposition. Nice one Gabe – we’re claiming it anyway!
Overall, the boys knew what had to be done, but much like State Rail, they tended to arrive on the scene a little late. Sharpening our timing will involve extra doses of self belief, positivity and encouragement from parents, officials and of course from the boys themselves. Working on these qualities as well as our skills and drills at training (and over the holidays) will serve us well into the home stretch of the season.
