Congratulations to Sebastian Vervoort who played his 50th game this week !!
It was a sunny afternoon at Goddard Oval Concord with the field very wet underfoot.
There was a fast vigorous start to the 1st quarter with both teams eager to get the match underway. There was excellent passing from Ben and good contesting by Tommy who was under heavy marking from the Glebe team. A good goal by Dylan put Power on the scoreboard. Great tackling by Liam and good marking by Harrison in this quarter. Nektar and Jonathon were very hands on. Nice consistent play.
Play was slow for the start of the 2nd quarter for Power. Great tackling by Ben and good shepherding by Finn. The team had good structure but had a hard time keeping up with a very fast Glebe team.
Sebastian, Jack and Nektar in the backline were kept very busy and when we had the chance there was fiesty play up the side of the field by Jonathon, Angus and Harrison with good support by Liam, Rory and Finn who was playing a great game. Excellent marking by Nick. Rory did some great work up front supported by Angus and Harry.
The boys did not seem to tire in the 4th quarter and certainly didn't give up with another deserving goal by Dylan. Our attacking and tackling did not seem to falter and we kept strong till the end of the match with Harrison kicking a fantastic last minute of the game goal.
Teal was unlucky not to score more goals from all their great attacking and play.
