Round 10 Match Report - U16 Div 2

Drummoyne vs Wests

On a very cold and windy day it was time for a depleted Drummoyne to take on second placed Wests. Wests have been playing some great football and with loads of quality talls the challenge was going to be great. Injury clouds over Taylor G and Jack E meant our starting midfield would be seriously depleted, this in addition to injury, private schools camps and school holidays only allowed us to field a single team of combined 1’s & 2’s.

For the first half the boys put in a gallant effort, but limited opportunities were not capitalised upon in the forward line. Lucky for some errant kicking by Wests that kept us in the game at the break. While making multiple changes across the field to get some run through defence and potency up forward we continually struggled to contain the wests talls, their run and devastating foot skills putting us to the sword.

The boys put in a gallant effort on most part, especially our makeshift defenders and crumbing players in Chicken and the V Brothers. Our captain running all day and a one legged Taylor trying to be dangerous in the forward line.

A long awaited break now for the school holidays, and hopefully a better turn out at training will provide the key to a more enjoyable second half of the year.
