Round 11 Match Report - U10
Drummoyne vs Newtown
Perfect conditions for football greeted the boys as we headed for ADO for a match up with Newtown. The Newtown team was undermanned with many still away on holidays but with a couple of players playing up from the 9’s and a couple coming across each quarter from Drummoyne meant it was game on!
All the boys enjoyed a great game of football, played in excellent spirit with 8 of our available 12 players all having a quarter in the swans outfit and each of them played to the best of their ability. If we were allowed to keep score in under 10’s it would probably say we went down by 2 goals but this could just as easily have been the other way with a few things just not coming off the way we would like but we know we have some improvement in our team and several more games ahead in which to prove same.
Marcus continues to go from strength to strength as the newest member of the team and indeed new to the code. Lewis did some excellent work across the backline as did Josh with lots of possession and Xavier marked his man closely and Lindon got in for the hard ball earning some important free kicks. Jack Vozzo was awesome in the centres teaming with Sam in the Ruck and progressively Bailey, Jonah and Will driving it forward.
Ewan was all over the place as we have come to expect and Michael continues to be Mr Reliable when set with a task to achieve. Lliam got himself involved and proved elusive in the forward line. A good all round team effort but not quite as quick and purposeful with the disposals as Newtown.
