Round 11 Match Report - U11 Black
Drummoyne U11 Black vs Concord
A glorious winter day, sunshine, blue skies and a great way to spend an hour watching the hotly contested but relatively low scoring game between Concord U11 and Drummoyne Power U11 Black at Alan Davidson Oval.
The first quarter showed a fantastic effort by our team with good pressure and chasing, with neither team scoring so much as a behind.
The second quarter was not too dissimilar, with Peter touching a held mark kicked in front of the goal, some good marking from Angus and Murali, and behind from Angus, bringing us level again at half time. The comment from Angus - "this should be a soccer game with a score like that"!
Third quarter saw a much needed and great goal from Ben, with James, Murali and Jack continuing the pressure. The Concord forward line for the quarter was stronger and they took the lead with a few behinds and 2 goals. Hugh, Sam, Peter and Max provided great support throughout the game and there were many instances of good teamwork by all the players.
We gave it our best, however Concord showed some accurate marking and good player placement that proved successful at the end of the day.
Huge thanks to Chris for stepping up to the coaching role, and the five players (and their parents) who played up and supported our team for the match.
