Round 11 Match Report - U13
Drummoyne vs. Kellyville/Rouse Hill
A chilly but sunny day greeted us at Drummoyne Oval for our first game against Kellyville/Rouse Hill. As they had moved down from Div 1, we knew we were in for a tough game.
After all the paperwork associated with photo day, I almost thought I would give the match report a miss but was subtly reminded that with my son not playing it might look like I wasn’t interested. How wrong can some people be!
With the boys supermodel photo performance over it was time for them to move on to the real show. We started off the first quarter strongly going into the first break only 9 points behind. Our only goal the whole game was soccered in this quarter by Caley. Unfortunately we could only manage three behinds for the next three quarters as the ball spent most of its time in the opposition’s forward half.
Alex did a great job as our ruckman this week playing out of his normal position in the backs and still managed plenty of possessions all over the ground, many of them whilst under pressure. James performed a great tackle when an opposition player was running in to goal forcing the player to kick a behind. Dylan, Lachlan and Luke were also amongst the tackles today. Some nice clean marks were taken by Brendan, Will, X and Luke. Ben, Max and Michael were running hard gaining lots of touches throughout the game.
Well done to Nick for helping us out today - it was good to see you running around with your old teammates. We have missed your attack on the ball. X was involved in a number of great passages of play, marking and moving the ball accurately. Your second and third efforts also did not go unnoticed.

Even though we lost all four quarters, we didn’t give up and didn’t let the score blow out. It was an even effort throughout the whole four quarters. We are due for a win, maybe next week will be our week!
