Under 9s Teal vs Newtown Swans 3 Alan Davidson Oval
Firstly we would like to thank Zac, Luke and Henry who all played a third for the other team. Well done boys.
Steven was captain for the day and led the team in one of their best performances for the season so far. A good start to the game with a strong tap down to Amando and a quick kick into our forward line. James Cooper dominated the forward line and seemed to have the ball on a string kicking four goals in the first term. James C was ably supported by Luke who kicked two goals and showed some strong body work to keep possession of the ball. A highlight involved a wonderful passage of play from the back line into our forward line - an accurate kick out of defence from James L to Benjamin who turned and kicked long in to the forward line, into James C’s hands, goal.
Steven took on the opposition with such strength receiving two well deserved free kicks after much determination chasing the ball through the centre. He was supported well by Henry who ran all day. Zac kicked with accuracy in the second term kicking 3 goals.
The last term saw James L and Steven support each other with a string of handballs running the ball into the forward line. Josh showed some great skill kicking two goals and Luke continued to apply pressure in defence with a great mark and tight manning up. Benjamin continued to show just how much he is loving the game in his first year with lots of run and carry into the forward line.
