Round 12 Match Report - U12 Teal
Under 12s Teal vs Western Suburbs at Five Dock Oval.
Teal was quick to open its Qtr 1 account with Ben slotting a nice goal in the opening minutes. With a building southerly blowing it became evident that scoring goals on the day was going to be a tough assignment. A lot of the action occurred in the mid field with Liam and Harrison doing plenty of work feeding the ball to the forwards. The game was going to be a tight one with Teal going into the break with a one goal lead.
The 2nd qtr was a similar affair with Louis scoring Teals first goal in the opening minute. Wests came back hard and for the next 5 mins with Nektar, Jonathan, Nick Finn, Callum & Sandy doing a great job in marking Wests attack and denying them time, space and clean ball. After the onslaught Teal was able to hit back with another goal from Louis. Another hard fought quarter with Tommy (Captain) making some notable tackles.
The third quarter started with Wests again pushing hard against the wind and displaying a lot spirit to try to turn the game. Plenty of work again for the mid field with good marking up and handballing from Angus C. Harrison scored a great goal with Jack, Rory and Sebastion finding plenty of space down the left with some clean breaks.
The 4th quarter was notable because Teal kept up the pressure against an opponent who did not give up. Ben, Tommy, Liam & Jack were all over the park with Jonathan Nick & Harry continuing with the hard work of the previous quarters.
In the end Teal won the match with it being obvious that it was a complete team effort. Congratulations to Tommy Doyle on achieving his 50th game for the club.
Many thanks to the parents that helped out on the day and a special mention to stand in coach Peter who committed his time and did a great job despite the fact that Dylan was no playing on the day.
Final Score: Drummoyne Teal 6. 13. 49 beat Wests 3. 6. 34
