Round 14 Match Report - U11 Black

Easts Red 16.8 - 108 def by Under 11s Black 7.6 - 48

Well all the rain of recent times and missing out on training with ground closures has certainly left the boys a bit rusty. The near perfect conditions were a welcome sight for all concerned and the boys actually had a really good hitout against a very fast Easts outfit. The score line doesn’t reflect how the game was played it was primarily that Easts were more consistent with their being able to score from their incursions into the forward line.

There were several standout performances, in particular Lewis Mac who played exceptionally well and put in all day. Angus stood tall, which he of course does quite well really, and contested everything he was near. Rory was closely marked but ran off his opponent at every opportunity and Lachie saved many goals on the last line of defence. Murali did a great job and took some confident marks.

Darby backed up to help out and was a welcome addition. Ben and Jack tried to drive fwd but against some very fast opposition found it tough going. James, Peter and Alistair all worked hard and Daniel was making his presence felt. Dylan, Hugh and Alex all left nothing in the tank which is the sort of effort we always seek.

Here’s hoping for clear skies this week, a soak in some “WD40” to loosen the rust off the boys and we’ll run out next week as a well oiled machine for the last round.
