Round 14 Match Report - U11 Teal
Under 11s Teal vs Maroubra
The Teal boys made a welcome return to Five Dock Oval for their second last home and away game of the season. As usual the ‘Bra boys proved fearsome opposition but they didn’t have it all their way, particularly in the final quarter.
Full credit has to go to Jack James who had put in a starring effort. He played aggressive footy and was a much needed example of how to win possession in tough contests around the ground.
Riley Lucas set himself the target of three goals on the eve of his eleventh birthday and delivered all three in the final quarter.
Another top player in the second half was Alex - a great mark was nearly rewarded by a shot for goal that only narrowly missed.
Lars and Rohan showed great utility around the pack today as did Darby in flashes. Gabe had a quieter game today but still managed to impress in a few passages with some nimble feet while Andrew and Sean again proved their worth in defensive play. Our U10 players, Jonah and Josh helped out yet again - thanks boys.
All together, a six goal final quarter (so I’m told – it was a bit hard to count accurately from the BBQ) will hopefully carry some momentum through to next week.
