It was an emotional day as we said good-bye to Drummoyne Oval. Nearly all the boys who played in the division 1 side on Sunday will be moving on to senior football next year.
Whilst there was no fairytale finish, the boys can be proud of putting in a really good fight and up until the last quarter there was only a goal or so in it.
Despite the loss it was lovely to see the boys from Westbrook form a guard of honour to clap off our departing players at the end of the game - thank you Westbrook for your touch of class.
It was a beautiful day at Drummoyne Oval and as the sun was getting low on the bay many of the parents and the boys hung around to have few celebratory drinks on the new middle-stand deck to reminisce about when the boys started in Auskick.
With one week to go for the season we hope that we may get one more training in......??? Weather has not been kind this year.
