Under 11 Black vs. Glebe
On a cloudy Saturday afternoon the team came jogging out onto the field under the Drummoyne Power banner with the club song leading the way to mighty win. 8.11 (59) to 6.6 (42)
There was one minutes silence before the game to mark respect for the fallen soldiers remembered officially on Anzac day.
The boys got the scoring underway quickly in the first quarter with Hugh sending the first goal through.Rory smothered the ball with a running goal. James was busy in centre line. Great mark by Murali. Yes! and goal to Alistair. Behinds scored by James, Lachlan and Rory. Great tackling by Lewis, Peter and Samuel.
2nd quarter gave us 2 goals. Strong tackling by Jack and Lachlan picked up by Peter and a good snap for goal. Good handball by Dylan while being tackled. Good mark by Alistair. Another great play forward with a mark taken by Angus and forwarded through to Peter then to Rory to score another goal. Good mark and play by Max as well.
3rd quarter saw Alexander one of the newcomer's to the game being tackled to the ground not before punting the ball forward. A goal for James and one from Angus nicely set up by Lewis. Some spectacular tackling near the opposition's mouth by Ben, Jack and Murali in an attempt to stop the opposition scoring. Two behind goals for Angus and 1 for James & Lewis this Quarter.
4th quarter showed us a good mark by Jack to score a clear goal. Marks by Lewis Max and Rory. Good defence was seen by Angus and a fast play forward by Angus to Lachlan to Peter to Daniel only to be halted by an opposition tackle. Overall good defence by our team was observed in general and nice touches throughout the game was the comment by the coach,Glen. Go! the under 11 Blacks.
