U13s provide great spectacle for the crowd
Round 2 Match Report - U13
RIVERVIEW defeated by DRUMMOYNE (8 – 109)
The U13s travelled to picturesque Riverview for round 2, and what a picture the scoreboard was by the end of the game! The boys played hard and ran all game, which provided a great spectacle for the crowd.
Spider controlled the centre bounce from term 1 winning the majority of the hit outs, and Simon (work in progress) took control of the ruck late in the 4th quarter only after shifting from the forward line where he kicked his first Power goal, which was quickly followed by his second.
Alex controlled the backs for the majority of the game which did not allow the opposition into double figures. There was some super marking by Matty, X, Michael, and Luke.
Power raced to a 67 to 7 lead at the end of the first half, with goals to Matty, Luke, Callum, Michael, Caley, Simon and Will.
The second half started just as spectacularly as the previous one, with that determined power spirit, the team surged with goals to Luke, Ben, Michael, Matty, and Max.
The second half was all team work with Elijah, Cameron, Aron, James, DT, Joshua, Brendan, and Alec all contributing to the work up of the teams goals – the goals don’t happen without the support.
Lachlan, after a wardrobe malfunction, put on the best hit of the day, and continued his aggressive attack on the football.
With every one contributing it allowed the coaching staff to try different structures late in the game while still maintaining pressure all over the park.
Thank you to the boys that played for Riverview - Simon & Aron, Joshua & Alec, Caley & Callum, Alex & Luke. A big thank you to the man behind ‘the big sticks waving the little sticks‘, Mr Roberts. And the great ‘club man’ Hamish for again finding his brother Elijah from a throw in!
